Children in the park
swinging as they walk
a couple in my front
exchanging a kiss
wrapped in an embrace.
Bodies lying still
in the Necropolis.

Raindrops
spiralling on my window
splashes of water
puddles in places
from the day’s fall.
The River Kelvin
in a hurry to nowhere.

Naked trees erect in the wind
dry leaves crumpling beneath my feet
pigeons over my head
at George Square.
a puppy on my leg
bouncing off to its owner

Racing thoughts
at the dead of night
tossing and turning
in the sheets
scampering feet in the hallway.
Eyes flipping open
at odd hours.
